12.5.3. The control of spherical support

Spherical support have axial (upwards and downwards) and radial (back and forth) люфт. To check it always follows before check of a condition of spherical support of a suspension bracket. The car should be thus on reliable support as work is spent from below.

For check of spherical support it is necessary to execute the following:

- To undertake the cross-section lever of a suspension bracket hands, as is shown in fig. 275, and to move it, making considerable efforts in a direction specified by arrows. The backlash should not be felt almost. It is an axial backlash;

- To undertake a wheel, as is shown in fig. 276, and to move it forward and back. It is a radial backlash which should be almost equal to zero;

- To check up rubber dustproof covers of spherical support on presence of damages. At detection of defects the corresponding support is subject to replacement;

- The reason excessive люфта can be in bearings of a wheel or the top support absorber racks.
