1.8. Work with carving connections

On the new car or the engine at отворачивании bolts, nuts, hairpins etc. do not arise any difficulties. But, if the car has solid age, there are problems, especially when details are exposed to long influence of a road dirt. At work with carving connections be guided by following rules:
- At отворачивании nuts on hairpins the acting part of a carving should be processed always a metal brush to remove pollution and a rust. Then to process a junction getting greasing;
- If it is necessary to turn on screwed in in приварную a nut a bolt (as a rule, in a body), follows, how much it only is possible to process a carving site on an underside getting greasing. In similar connections of a head of bolts приварная the nut easily comes off or comes off;
- The screws having heads with шлицем or with crosswise шлицем, sometimes it is possible to turn on only with great difficulty. Screw-drivers slip out from шлица and damage it. That it did not occur, the screw-driver should be established on the screw and sharply to strike on it a hammer. In most cases the screw is possible to turn on easily;
- The screws designated as Torx, turn away by means of special nozzles which can be got in the tool complete set;
- At отворачивании screws with internal шестигранником or screws with many-sided heads (polygonal gearing, in most cases 12 corners) also can arise complications. Carrying out of careful cleaning of deepening internal шестигранника should be the first condition here (for example, by means of a thin screw-driver) to provide possibility of installation face шестигранного or a many-sided key. If it is possible, it is necessary to use a corresponding head. Before unscrewing of screws it is possible to strike one blow by a hammer to a head to deduce the screw from its steady condition. However sometimes it is necessary to take advantage face шестигранным of a key with the bent handle. Thereof unscrewing can be complicated. We offer the following decision. To insert a key into a screw head and to impose small рожковый a wrench on the extended end face шестигранного a key. Then, reliably keeping a key in perpendicular position, to turn away the screw turn рожкового a wrench. Thanks to it it is possible to avoid danger of twisting of the bent wrench at jamming of screws. Small heads with internal шестигранником can be grasped also by means of sliding пассатижей (fig. 12), first of all in the event that at internal шестигранника there were rounded off edges. At compression have no fingers in a place noted by an arrow, — the tool can be latched;

- Problems can sometimes arise as well at отворачивании nuts or the bolts which edges became rounded off owing to use of keys of the "wrong" sizes (it is characteristic for second-hand cars). Depending on position of a nut it can be cut down a chisel or to saw lengthways on a carving. It is possible to mention also раскалыватель nuts. It is shown on fig. 13, its screw is tightened until the nut will burst. Thus the bolt carving is not damaged;

- Self-stopped nuts are fixed thanking their abilities to latching which is lost after отворачивания. If self-stopped nuts it is necessary to replace them always are applied;
- Sometimes happens that the bolt head comes off. To take out the rest with a carving from a carving aperture, on the bolt centre drill an aperture and use a so-called screw-driver-tap with the left carving. It can be got in shops of autospare parts. It is inserted, as a tap, in the drilled aperture. At a tightening the given tool runs into the rest of a bolt which if it ends successfully, then is unscrewed. Other decision remains рассверливание a fragment approximately till diameter of a carving of a bolt (slightly less) and calibration of an aperture by a tap;
- Hairpins turn away by means of two tightened nuts. At отворачивании the wrench is established on an internal nut, and at вворачивании — on external;
- At a tightening of bolts the carving executed in details from an aluminium alloy is sometimes damaged. In shop it is possible to get carving inserts Heli-Coil. They can be inserted into an old carving aperture according to the applied instruction.
