11.2. Replacement of steering draughts

For replacement of steering draughts the steering mechanism is necessary for removing, as gear рейку and a gear wheel it is possible to damage if to replace cross-section steering draughts at the established mechanism. At replacement of cross-section steering draught it is necessary to observe absolute cleanliness.

For replacement of steering draughts it is necessary to execute following operations:

- To open a clip of fastening of a cover on the corresponding party and to move a cover on steering draught to lateral aspect. To remove all visible greasing;

- To clamp the mechanism of a steering with gear рейкой in the position specified in fig. 251, in a vice with sponges from an aluminium alloy;

- To establish on planes of the case of the spherical hinge a key and to turn away steering draught. In automobile repair shop use the key specified in drawing for fixation of the spherical hinge;

- To screw new steering draught in gear рейку;

- Again to clamp gear рейку in a vice, to screw in steering draught and to tighten the moment 80 Нм. Plentifully to cover gear рейку консистентной with greasing AOF 063 000 04;

- Again to establish a cover and to fix it. In automobile repair shops for this purpose use special flat-nose pliers. If they are not present, to provide reliability of installation of a collar. Covers should adjoin to the case densely;

- In need of replacement of the left steering draught the size and, specified in fig. 252, is equal (350,51) mm. For the right steering draught (on which the subsequent adjustment of a convergence is spent) the size is approximately equal to this value without a counternut tightening;

- After installation of the mechanism of a steering to adjust a convergence and to tighten both counternuts the moment 50 Нм.
