15.1.1. Check of the storage battery

Electrolit level
The storage battery is filled by the sulfuric acid diluted with distilled water. The storage battery is in a motor compartment and is fixed by a clamping plate 2 (fig. 318) and a tightening lath 1. Before removal it is necessary to disconnect wires from the storage battery. Always at first it is necessary to disconnect a negative wire. Then to turn away a bolt 3, to remove a clamping plate 2 and to take out the storage battery.
At installation of the storage battery at first it is necessary to smooth out plugs, to get the storage battery with effort a flange on one party under a tightening lath 1. To establish a clamping plate 2 and densely to press it to the storage battery, to insert a bolt and to tighten its moment 20 Нм.

Start-up of the engine with the discharged storage battery
The most simple way of start-up is start-up with use of a special wire for connection to the storage battery of other car. The wire should possess the considerable area of cross-section section and large connecting clips to pass a current from one storage battery to another.
